Don't let Alice die in vain - help us defeat blood cancer
19.09.16 : Don’t let Alice die in vain

It is with great sadness that dental technician Luke Barnett has to announce that his 21 year old niece Alice Byron passed away recently after losing her battle with MDS (Myelodysplastic syndrome) and blood cancer.

Luke said, “First of all, I would like to say thank you to the many of you who kindly signed up to the blood cancer registers late last year when we were raising awareness of Alice’s fight. It is such a tragedy for one so full of life and young to lose their fight. Alice even managed to complete her degree from her hospital bed gaining a 2:1 in English Literature.”

18.11.15 : Help defeat MDS and blood cancer

Leading dental technician Luke Barnett is calling on those in the dental field to support his campaign to help defeat MDS (Myelodysplastic syndrome) and blood cancer. Luke’s twenty year old niece Alice has MDS, a blood disorder which can lead to acute myelogenous leukemia and is writing a frank, funny and heartfelt blog about facing the condition and all that it entails.

Well, what a fantastic day! The weather was kind apart from a bit of a shower at the start and in amongst the rubbish, (mainly from yours truly) there was some decent golf. Thanks to all for coming along and helping raise money for the Hospice. As far as I can remember it (it goes hazy as we move into the evening!), the prizes were awarded to:

The Luke Barnett Centre is delighted to be working closely with Nobel Biocare and helping them deliver an upcoming session on All-on-4® and immediate function on Wednesday 17th June. The idea is to provide dentists, working in conjunction with their technician, an overview of teeth in a day. Also, if you have any case notes that you wish to discuss, please do bring them along.

02.03.15 : Come and see us at Cerec Symposium!

We are delighted to be exhibiting at the Cerec Symposium, being held on 27 and 28 March, at the Royal College of Physicians in London. Organised by Henry Schein Dental, there is a great line-up of speakers from the world of digital dentistry. They include: Cerec educator, Bobby Chagger, Julian Caplan, Patrik Mofors, Ivan Ghandour, Nick Claydon and Simon Belford. There are also hands-on learning zones that will provide an opportunity to watch demonstrations and speak to experts from across the field of digital dentistry.

20.02.15 : Supporting BACD Regional Meetings

At the Luke Barnett Centre we are proud to be sponsoring the London BACD Regional Meetings throughout 2015. 

These meetings are local, evening affairs where dentists, technicians and team members can learn about aspects of cosmetic dentistry. We have always found them to be a great way to meet with other dentists and technicians in your area after work and discuss cases and approaches to cosmetic dentistry and network, chat and share interesting tips.  BACD members only pay a pound to attend a meeting.
